A great find!

So a while ago I was trying to make some name cards for my DnD encounters table. I really don’t like the cards they packed in with all the game content. They were laminated with the intent that players would use a dry/wet erase marker on them to clean them off for the next group. To me they were the bane of good design. There was way too much going on to really be useful. The Section for the players name was over shadowed by all of the crazy design work on the name tag. I really couldn’t read most of them from across the table; and I know that makes me sound like a grumpy old man.

So I tried to make my own table tents, but I thought putting more useful information on them might be a better way to go. I will admit that mine did not turn out so well. Fist of all I’m not very good with image editing software. Then there is the fact that I can’t design worth crap. While throwing my designs around the WotC community pages and looking for ideas I met (digitally that is) Chris S. who has already beat me to the punch. He sent me his Name cards on a PDF file and wow are they good.

You can download them here if you would like to print them out for use at your Dungeons and Dragons encounters or any other DnD event. You can also find them in the tolls for DMs section of the site. I’m still trying to design one with a bit less info on it. Something geared towards the newest of the new players. We shall see how it turns out and what I learn from it.

Part idiot. Part old man. All geek. Thadeous can't think of anything interesting about him self right now. Know this though if he could it would be creative and funny as well as thought provoking.
