That’s right it’s time to buy some more friends. I’m back from PAX and I have lots of awesome swag! I love free stuff and I know many people out there feel the same. So the others and I decided that we would share the joy of getting free stuff with everyone out there in internet land. All month long (and perhaps into October) we will be doing a series of giveaways, almost all related to Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition.
There has been lots of talk about Wizards of the Coast changing their DM rewards program; I’m not going to weigh in on the subject but we are going to help you get some of those rewards for your self. This week we will be giving away two count them two copies of the DM Rewards edition of Tomb of Horrors. These were never sold in stores, and most likely will not be reprinted and we have not one but two to be given away in this weeks contest.
For this first giveaway all you need to do is post a comment at the bottom of this page nothing more, nothing less. In later giveaways we might require you to answer a trivia question about the website or take part in some kind of game but for now just sign up at the bottom of the page to win one of two free copies of Tomb of Horrors.
Keep in mind that this is not the published super adventure, this is a module style heroic tier adventure based off of the original.
There are rules to the contests we will be running here at This is My Game
- Only enter if you are going to use the prize. If I (Thadeous) find out you have sold your prize, or given it away on another site I will show up at your house and beat you about the face an neck.
- Do not create alternate accounts and enter more than once. It’s not fair, it’s not cool and it will result in the same punishment as breaking rule #1
- International entries will be responsible for covering shipping cost over $8.50USD, if you win and it costs more than that you will have to cover the remainder.
- Rules are subject to change at the whim of the creator and authors of this site.
- By entering you will be granting the creator and authors of this site to use your likeness and name in promotions related to this contest, and to glue pictures of your face and head on images of bikini models for shits and giggles.
That should be about all. If the rules have not scared you away please sign up below and good luck from all of us here at This is my Game!
T.
We have our two winners, Thanks to Tracy over at SarahDarkmagic.com for picking the random numbers for us. The winners are: DrOct and Jason K.
We will be in touch with both winners shortly.

In fact, I went ahead and did it for you:

(warning this is incredibly creepy…at least to me.)
Thanks.

It’s definitely creepy to me too.
September 7, 2010 at 2:24 pm
Very interested in Tomb of Horrors. I have an alternate campaign plot I’d like to work out.
September 7, 2010 at 2:44 pm
Hey, want to send that to Canada? I’ll need something to play after the 8 month long winter season sets in. With that book I’ll be able to amuse my friends and family after we settle in under the sixteen feet of snow that Upper Canada will get.
We can burrow tunnels from igloo to igloo which will let us visit during the long snow-locked months; by the end of the long winter, the adventure will be played and replayed and lay in tatters.
We will burn other supplements to be able to play this one; some will be burned for warmth, some for light.
Only your generosity can save the Great Northern Gamer from the long hibernation that looms.
PS: You can come and game too, but you better leave before the great Snowening happens or be prepared to stay for 6 months.

September 7, 2010 at 7:19 pm
Ah, free swag would certainly be appreciated at the table with my 7 year old and the neighbours kids. Somehow I think they’d enjoy running headlong into repeated death.

September 11, 2010 at 7:31 pm
I survived a Tomb of Horrors conversion in a 3.5 game – I’d love to kill the PCs in my current 4e game with it.

September 12, 2010 at 8:29 pm
Sweet, I loved Tomb of Horrors. Easily one of the best original modules. I have fond memories of going through this as a new player, and as a new DM (Circa 1984 for me). This is one of those modules that the elder AD&D players would use to scare new guys… “This is the module that makes your parents and teachers upset about…” It had incredible mystique associated with it. I remember going and Xeroxing the handouts. That alone made the module beyond epic. It had real handouts. Not just some blue graph map, but actual visual aid handouts. There were very few modules that could equal Tomb of Horrors (Expedition to the Barrier Peaks being one of them, hopefully they will do that one next).
September 13, 2010 at 8:43 am
I remember dying to the first version of this module…4 times. Count me in
September 13, 2010 at 8:44 am
I checked this mod out and it seems really fun. I liked the “weeping angels” reference to Doctor Who. Well, at least I thought it was a reference.
September 13, 2010 at 8:51 am
