#FreeFeatsFriday – Rogue Edition

Pennyweighter

"It takes a thief"

Welcome to Free Feats Friday, wherein each Friday I’ll be bringing you at least 3 new feats for use in your 4e D&D games. I’m hoping to make this column a regular thing, as long as people enjoy it and if not then it’ll be back to the drawing board. I think it’s a great idea to get the community collaborating, if we could make it an integral part of our tweets each Friday I think we could collectively come up with some great stuff.

So consider this my effort in getting others involved, and bear in mind they don’t always have to be feats but, Free Feats Friday does have a nice ring to it eh? (Though I suggest we use #FFF for short). I’ve come up with a few and I’d like to share them with you.

That being said I’d like to dedicate my first #FreeFeatsFriday to our heroes of the stealthy kind, as they happen to be my favorite. It takes a lot to be a thief you know so I tried to aim for feats that fit a theme or personality type, I do hope you enjoy them. Some may actually resemble existing feats (Dammit Jim I’m a DM, not a player!) and this happens to be my first attempt at designing a feat so any sort of critique is encouraged. Also, feel free to add in some of your own via comments/tweets, thanks!

“Pennyweighter” (Heroic)

Prerequisite: Rogue / Assasin, Trained in Thievery

You’re skilled in the fine art of transposing objects, particularly those which are worthless in exchange for valuables

You gain a +2 to thievery checks while picking pockets and certain traps as long as you have a similarly sized/weighted object as the one attempting to be manipulated. Increases to +4 at paragon and +6 at epic tier.

=======================================================================================

“Promenade of Thieves” (Heroic)

Prerequisite: Rogue / Assassin / Ranger, Dex 14

The familiarity of fighting along side shadow swept companions bolsters your fighting prowess and agility

While adjacent to other PC’s with this feat you gain a +1 circumstance bonus to your Reflex and AC defenses. You may also gain combat advantage against an opponent as a minor action once per encounter while an ally whom also has this feat is adjacent to you.

(AC/Reflex bonuses increase to +2/+3 at paragon/epic tier.)

=======================================================================================

“Flick o’ the Wrist” (Heroic)

Prerequisite: Dex 13

You’ve spent many a night tossing darts, daggers, and more at a target. Your uncanny aim allows for deadly precision and accuracy against stationery targets.

While using thrown weapons against stationery, grabbed, or restrained targets gain a +1 feat bonus to the attack roll and +2 to damage. Also once per encounter as part of an attack that includes the “Thrown” keyword throw 1 additional weapon as part of that action, making a separate to hit roll for each.

(To hit,damage increase to +2,+3/+3,+4 at paragon/epic tier)
