Watch and learn.

It’s been a proven teaching technique for about as long as learning has been around and for many it’s a preferred way to learn. I speak of course about demonstration. I have already set in motion plans to create a web series of videos that will follow new groups of players as they learn how to play RPGs starting with Dungeons and Dragons. I have often used the Penny-Arcade D&D podcasts as a reference for those new comers to the hobby who want a way to better grasp the concepts of the game before sitting at the table. Video is the next obvious step, though I often feel that it is easier to get people to listen to something verses watching it.

While I have been spending some time trying to get this webesode business all figured out a few of my friends actually got to play in a game with Chris Perkins, yeah thee Chris Perkins of Wizards of the Coast fame for the Press Start Daily channel. So while we are getting our act together I present to you the Pres Start actual play sessions with Christ Perkins.

Part idiot. Part old man. All geek. Thadeous can't think of anything interesting about him self right now. Know this though if he could it would be creative and funny as well as thought provoking.

  1. These are always enjoyable – and this crew of players is really cool, very engaged, which is awesome! Chris Perkins once again showing us how a great, balanced game of classic D&D in 4e looks, sounds and feels.

  2. Very cool, Padre Thadeous. Video is a tricky beast but in this day and age, there should be much more of it. The Pile gang is cheering for ya!
