GenCon Schedule – Stalk DeadOrcs at GenCon

Greetings, Gamers!

The GenCon gaming convention is right around the corner (well okay, a month around the corner), and I wanted to post my schedule on the off chance that if you’re attending the convention, you want to stop by and say, Hi! GenCon is an annual pilgrimage for many gamers, and I’m proud to say that this will be my 3rd (& a 1/4)* trip to Indianapolis for the Best Four Days of Gaming!

Here’s where I’ll be:

WEDNESDAY

Arrive Wednesday afternoon, check into Hotel – Approximately 3:00 pm

Dinner with friends Wednesday evening.

THURSDAY

Sorcerer & Claw (DnDNext Playtest) – 3:oo pm to 4:30 pm

GenCon Evening Social – 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm

FRIDAY

What Is The Sundering (Seminar) – 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

An Hour With Brian Patterson (Seminar) – 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

SATURDAY

When Things Go Catastrophically Wrong Brunch (Fiasco Game) – 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

Behind The DM Screen (Seminar Panelist)** – 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm

SUNDAY

Hotel Checkout – Approximately 11:00 am

Drive Home

The way my schedule is shaping up, most of my free “do whatever” time is going to be on Saturday morning. That’s the day I’ll be looking for an unofficial game to get into before my seminar later that evening. There’s so many awesome things to see & do at GenCon, it really is hard to decide what to do first!

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE

That’s right. It just so happens that my lovely wife, Anna (@FELTit on the Twitters), is a fiber geek. This will be her second year of doing felting SPA (SPousal Activities) classes at GenCon. Want to break away from the crowds and enjoy the fun of stabbing something to life? Check out one of THESE six classes. By the by, there is a cost attached, but everything you need for the class is included and you get to bring home your creation!

If you think you might enjoy a little fiber in your gaming, head out to the GenCon Site to register!

There’s often plenty of “downtime” between events & activities, so follow me on the Twitters at @deadorcs. I hope to meet many of you there and refresh some of the great friendships I’ve made in the past! GenCon HOOOOOOOOOO!

NOTES

*My first GenCon experience was in 2003. I literally stopped by on a Saturday for about 3 hours total, long enough to tour the dealer hall and pick up one of my favorite DnD 3.0 books – Ghostwalk. I swore I would come back the next year – and did.

**That’s right! Have you been listening to the Tome Show? Well, if not YOU SHOULD BE. I’m proud to be on a LIVE panel for BEHIND THE DM SCREEN, a Tome Show production! Come grab a ticket and watch Jeff, Mike & Myself talk about our games and maybe answer a few questions about your own!

***Needle felt a Ninja, Pirate, Robot, or Zombie! Join the most famous meme war with a felted representative YOU CREATE.

  1. Aw, THANKS, babe for the awesome plug for my classes. EVERYONE can needlefelt! And if you need help with what kind of creature to stab into life, I’ll have some examples and pics of what con-goers last year created!

    Until next time, FELT SOMETHING!
